• Proximity: It would be something close by-- There was a fire outside, it was burning red, huge, it covered all of Akin's courtyard with it's redish and yellowish flames.
• Prominence: How well known people are-- There were many teachers involved in this fire, getting caught and engulfed by it's flames.
• Timeliness: Something of now then distance affects us more. The fire had happened yesterday, yet the damage was tremendous.
• Oddity: Is it weird?-- The fire was started by a kid in the courtyard whom was smoking. He drops the lighter and in seconds the flames engulfed the courtyard.
• Consequence: Does the happenings affect people?-- Due to the damage Akins Highschool will be closed down for a while, long while.
• Conflict: The problem of the story.-- due to the burning, the child was alive and well and had escaped but is now facing charges for damage of property, man slaughter and many other charges.
• Human interest: Does the story affect how you feel?-- The happening enraged many teachers as the school may be shut down, it had affected them and now without a job, they are finding themselves at a loss.
